Lazy days off!

I almost did nothing during my days off. I went to see convalescent Austen who made me start earlier my night shift. I'm glad to see that he is much better now! We spent the afternoon together shopping at Auchan. And I watched him cook for the rest of the evening whilst enjoying myself with a B52 made by my host. Cheers mate it was just good!
I woke up at 12:30 this afternoon and just manage to go out to get some food from Carrefour. I'm going to cook what Austen was doing last night. A provençal style gratin from the recipe book of Guy Savoy. I'll post probably tomorrow the result. Off now to wash and cut the vegetables! Austen, you're lucky to have some help when you need it.

Knackered!

That's the general feeling at the moment. It probably has to do with the weather, which is shity, or the fact that I'm doing night shifts, or the fact that I started my week at work after a smooth, but nonetheless strong, drinking session. All in all, I'm knackered. I don't even have the will power to go to the gym, too far, too cold outside.
The only good thing about night shift is that you can take pictures of the flower displays in the lobby. Check this out :

They're beautiful. I reckon it's the best job in the hotel to have. For the ones who know the guy, you know what I mean. You can dress up as you like and put flowers upside down in a vase and everybody will find it "so amazing"! If I had the budget this guy has for the floral arrangements, I'll do the same! Or spend it all on partying with my friends!
Well tonight, there is 147 million Euros to be won at the lottery. Of course I played, we never know. Even though they announced on the news that there is 1 chance out of 76 million to find the right numbers!
Austen, Adrian, if I win, prepare to race me in our brand new Ferraris or whatever we fancy racing in for! And as you can see Adrian has got all the protection gear he needs!

Small wonders!

Washing dishes can be beautiful. See the foam, it just looks nice! That doesn't mean I love doing the washing-up because the foam is nice! I hate that! It was just one of those moment in life when you are so bored that you find interest even in the smallest of things.
Same thing happened to me whilst I was chopping red cabbage the other day.I'm back to work tomorrow after a long week off. I will start the night shift too, which is OK apart from the fact that it disturbs completely your internal clock. Especially in winter, you don't see the light of the day and that's annoying. I'll be perfecting my English tan then!

Near "lobster death" experience

I was at the gym yesterday and after my little session, I went to the sauna. I decided to see how many spoon of water you can pour on the stones until the heat is too unbearable. The answer is 5! I nearly died! I couldn't breathe and there I felt like the lobster about to take his big last plunge. Do not try this if you're in a sauna! After getting used to the heat, two chinese guys came in and one of them pour some water with lemongrass oil on the stones! And there, I felt like a bloody steamed ravioli! The sauna smelt of chinese food. Funny how non-food place can remind you of food. Adrian a.k.a. Mike tyson, please no comment on that one please!!!
Now I'm having a great Christmas tea. I know it's not Christmas but I don't care!
Back to the employees party, take a look at this picture.I wonder what kind of message that girl from the Spa was trying to convey to our drunken, twisted mind. "A little bit imperfect, P hard!" Thanks to Austen how spotted that marvellous T-Shirt. Now Adrian, you may comment.

Headaches!

That's what I have recently experienced. Last week was a big drinking session all along. I worked with Adrian from 7am till 3pm. The first day we went to our local bar, the Rival, and meet with Nadira. Then we decided to go to the Hemingway bar at the Ritz. It has been a long time since we were there last. Nothing changes, especially in that remote place hidden at the far back of the Ritz. We had a couple of Bloody Bullshot and on the way back, I got stop by the Police for... passing a red light! I wasn't even tested for drunkeness! I'm sure I would have finished at the Police station with a heavy fine and no driving license for a long time. Let say that the Drunken Gods were with me and I got off with a 90€ fine and 4 points off my license. That meams, I have only 2 points left now! Oups, time to undergo one of those training session where you can get 4 points back.
On Friday, we had the hotel employees party, and that was a wild one! Drunk a lot of Champagne and wine. When the party finished we went to the Queen club on the Champs Elysées and got more drunk!
I ended up going back home at 8am to woke up at 10am and start work at 12pm. That was hardcore but hey! one has to live sometimes. Thanks to Codoliprane and Red Bull, I got through the day alright.
Yesterday, I met with my friend Cate in Paris and we had lunch at the Bar Vendôme at the Ritz. I got a Cesar Salad with king prawns that was delicious. Cate had the "salade du Chef" with strips of cheese, roast beef, chicken and quail eggs. Looked good too. I had a lovely time. Thank you Cate!
At the moment, I have a week off and trying to plan my wedding. And that gives me headache too! Got to think of everything, people you have to invite, the place, the food and what you are goin to where. I think I found what outfit I will have. A nice silver velvet jacket I have seen at the Wedding exhibition last sunday. Costs only 575€. I have to get an appointment to try it on with the trousers and shirt and accessories.
And now to clear my head I'm going to the gym and try not to feel my aching muscles!

Champagne is not my drink!

Happy New Year everyone!
Finally this wonderful weight gainer period is over! I was working on New Year's Eve so I didn't have a proper party. I finished at 1am on that night and I met Uta at some friends house to, at least, eat and drink something for the coming of New Year. Well I was surprised when I arrived there that they were just getting ready for the main course, (they apparently spent 4 hours at the aperitif!) consisting in roast beef and vegetables. Wine was good and I must say I had to much Champagne. And it gave me terrible headache the next morning. I had to drink something because everybody was drunk when I arrived and I hate this situation when you join a party after it started. So I drank a vast amount of Champagne, knowing I would regret it the next morning. And I did! I even touched somebody else's ass! Thanks to Codoliprane, I managed to get through the day at work. I don't know why but evrybody seemed to have lost their celebrating spirit on the 1st. It was an awful day at work! People where obviously in the same, if not worst, state as I was and that makes them obnoxious. All in all a day to forget. Now it's back to normal. I had a drink last night with Adrian and this morning I don't feel any pain because we had vodka and Red Bull! My lungs hurt a bit because I had to much to smoke! That was part of my new year's resolutions and I'm glad to say that it lasted a full 24 hours! I'm gonna try not to smoke to much today. At least I went to the gym yesterday and I'm feeling a bit better about that.
