Ami Jean

Yesterday, Yara, Olivier and myself went to l'Ami Jean, small Basque region bistro on Rue Malar. The food is what you expect in this kind of places, plain, simple delicious. They have a "surprise menu" at 60€ per person which serves about 10 dishes.Beef

Quail
Canette de Barbarie
Morue

It was hard towards the end with the 3 different desserts we were served. We washed all that down with a bottle of Pommard. That was an excellent evening out. Actually it was a petty good day off all together. It started with a traffic jam on the motorway back from La Vallée Village, I was stuck for 1 hour. Then I went to Austen to find out his new trend in gardening fashion!Got pretty trashed there before finishing at the restaurant. And driving back like a lunatic on the motorway to find out that even with a 250 horse power car you are left behind in a second by a 1400CC motorbike! Olive your Kawazaki is a bloody bullet! Kudos!

Baan Boran

Tucked away on rue Montpensier in front the Palis Royal theater, this really good thai takes the lot. Nice good looking waitresses direct from Thailand, excellent dishes and fair price. The starters were around the 10€ mark, main dishes around 16€. We paid 87€ for 2 includeing a 28€ bottle of wine. I say : bargain! Shrimp saladGreen curry scallopsCrab riceFunky cutlery
