Bidding fever

Couple of weeks ago, I was on Ebay checking the cars (Italian preferably and quite old but in good condition). I came across this: I thought it was good looking and the price was pretty low. And then it started, I was checking every other hour if I still was the best bidder. Then close to the closing date someone had dared putting a higher bid than mine. What did I do? I could have told myself "no it's OK, you don't really need a second car" but I thought "what the hell! I want it!" So I became the proud owner of this lovely 1980 Alfetta GTV 2000. The previous owner was living in Cagnes sur Mer, South of France, so I decided that it would be a good idea to take the train down there and use my 3 days off to come back with the car. Or if the car hasn't been to my liking, back with the train. So off I was early morning at gare de LyonFortunately, the car appeared to be in good condition and the deal was made. I spent the night at Jean Jacques' place. Then it was back to Paris, the car ran perfectly. I stopped for the night in Digne les Bains at a small hotel called Tonic Hotel with jacuzzi bathtub. Pretty cool. I had a good dinner there too.

Must have paid 45Euros for the full dinner with wine.
Next morning, and last day of my off days, it was time to hit the road again. I had a pretty smooth and sunny ride. The lack of radio makes you do silly thing like singing in your car.It was nice and sunny until about 20km from Paris when rain hit me quite hard and then I found out the whippers were not exactly the fastest whippers of the planet. It was so slow I nearly had to stop! Plus I noticed the car is not entirely waterproof, I had a few drop of rain splashing my face!
I eventually made it home and now I've 2 cars!
