Days off

Yesterday, I went to La Vallée Village, a place where you can get good designer clothes cheapper. It has been months since I last went there. I checked the usual places : Versace, Givenchy, Kenzo,... and I eventually found something at the Armani store: a nice jumper for more than half the price! I checked as well the Christian Lacroix store for things for Uta since they rarely have stuff for men. And I found a very nice jacket and a skirt to match. I knew I shouldn't buy it but it was so nice (and the right size too!) that I couldn't resist. Plus as an excuse I told to myself, Uta needs a little change in her wardrobe. So I bought it and to tell the least Uta was very pleased.
We went to Giulio Rebelatto last friday for a little "tête à tête". The food was excellent and quite cheap for the area the restaurant is located (in swanky 16ème). Uta had spaghetti with fresh green aspargus simply cooked in olive oil and white wine. I had some penne with tomato and basil sauce with Italian bacon (can't remember the proper name but that the way the waiter described it to me) Then the old tiramisu (very good too) and a bottle of Chianti Dievole.
Today I went to Paris to get my money from the Maître D' at Petit Thiou and we ended up having a chat on the terrace of the restaurant. He is a nice guy. He told me he caught the guy who stole money from customer and obviously fired him! Then on the way back I almost hit a pedestrian crossing in a middle of nowhere without looking. I brake and got almost hit by the car behind me. By the look on the driver's face in my mirror, that was a close call!! I would have been really pissed off if it happened again! Bloody pedestrian!
Sorry no picture this time because it takes a long time to download. Plus I don't have any new material to show you this time.
On my next post, I will try to put some picture of the risotto I am going to cook tonight : that will be with mushroom and fresh green aspargus!

Day out

I, finally, got my car back. The first thing to say is that the guys at Alfa know their job. It looks like nothing happened. But you wouldn't expect less from an Alfa dealer, would you?
Yesterday we decided to take the car for a little spin to Giverny. We wanted to see the Monet's garden at this time of the year because there's a lot more flowers than when we went there last August! It was quite sunny and we had a lovely day out.We had lunch in Vernon at a restaurant called La Poste, nice traditional food and very nice wine! After lunch, I gave the keys to Uta for her to test drive the auto (I had the bottle all for myself, couldn't do otherwise because the copper were out, Never seen so many in so little time!). She loved it! I better be careful now because she's going to use the car more often than the other one, I think.
By the way, thanks to everybody who seemed to see a corelation between my wedding outfit and Elton John! I had a good laugh! Now you know how you will have to dress for my wedding, Austen, Adrian and Olivier! Can't wait to see you in wigs and tights! Ah!Ah!
Talking about weird things, look at the tulips Uta brought back from the market last Sunday :

Got to go to work!

After a week in Tunisia celebrating my 31st birthday and chilling out by the pool with a cocktail in my hand, I am back in Villiers sur Marne. At least if it's not warm, it's still sunny. What a difference between Tunisia and France. In 2 hours flight you get around 10°C more. That was nice to feel te sun and to see the beach and sea. As we were there outside school holidays, it was very quiet. The season had just started for them a few days before we arrived. The hotel was almost empty, even the beach! No fighting to get a long chair or a spot in the sun! Brilliant! The day before we went, we decided to go to Le Petit Thiou to celebrate our holidays and to try it at last since the last time we wanted to go there we had a little accident! (My car should be ready next week. No major damage) Well then it was a wonderful experience. Excellent food for a fair price. I even took the main course twice since it was so good! I said it was a wonderful experience up until I asked for the bill and my coat to get my wallet which was inside it. I would have been glad to pay if it was not for the missing money in my wallet! Yes, I had my money stolen at the restaurant by one of their staff! Shame on you Mr Thiou. At the moment, I am still waiting for the manager to call me back to give me an up-date on how, in what you think of a respectable restaurant, you could have your wallet emptied! He'd better call me today.
On a better side, I got my wedding suit ready last week and it's sitting comfortably in my wardrobe. One thing less to worry about. Still have to do a testing menu, choose a photograph, meet the DJ and buy the rings!
