Biarritz

It's been already 10 days or so that I came back from Biarritz. We spent a mega relaxing week-end at Hotel du Palais, a magnificent building built for Eugénie, wife of Napoleon III. The room, the spa and restaurants were just perfect! The Basque region is wonderful and the people are all friendly.
The weather was with us and we had a sunny week-end. On sunday, we went over to Spain and visited San Sebastian, a costal city with its historical centre full of tapas bars. We ate at a few local restaurants and met with familiar faces in the last one. We were eating our delightfully simple sole a la plancha when Mr Guy Savoy himself walked in. Being born in the neighborhood, he comes quite often there to unwind from the challenging job of keeping his restaurant business at a top.
Then we came back and I was of to work for the most tiring week. With the flu and other nasty germs hanging around, everybody at work is either sick or becoming sick.
Tomorrow it is Uta's birthday : the big 30! We will go to Il Vino to celebrate. I'll post on it later.
